We do not practise this in our centre. IUI treatment is not the best fertility treatment for women who are above the age of 40. Usually, we would recommend IVF treatment for women of this age range. Apart from that, you can also choose the gender in IVF.

This is common. Most probably it is caused by the disinfection procedure that your fertility doctor perform before the IUI procedure. There is nothing to be worried about.
